In October of last year Adam enlisted in the Army, I know... crazy! However it was a well thought out, well prayed about and much fasted over decision. He went active duty on April 14th this year for his initial training in Fort Sill Oklahoma, aka Boot Camp! He graduates in just a few short weeks from today but then transfers directly to his Advanced Individual Training (AIT) in Missouri for an additional 10-12 weeks. We expect him home around late August, Early September this year. He has excelled at Fort Sill, 1 of 4 in his platoon of 60 men to pass his PT test the first time. He's been squad leader and missionary extraordinaire, taking fellow non-member soldiers with him to church on Sundays. Services are held by Senior Missionaries in a class on base for just a one hour Sacrament meeting. I'm extremely proud of him and the completely selfless sacrifices he makes for our family. It has been one of the best decisions we have made together and even now in the thick of it all, their hasn't been an inkling of a doubt that this is best for our family.
The boys and I have found our groove, rolling with the punches and counting the days until we see him again.
I feel compelled to bear my testimony of the Gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Nothing else has ever come close the the comfort and peace that the knowledge I have brings. I know that Jesus Christ and The Lord live. That they are completely aware of my every thought, need and desire. I count my eternal family as the single most sacred blessing in my life. I know that the Book of Mormon is completely true and void of error. I love the prophet Joseph Smith and look forward to meeting him some day. I know with certainty that Thomas S. Monson is a latter day prophet whose words of truth are meant to bring joy for every soul on this earth. I know that my husband Adam is not perfect, but he is perfect for me. He rises above the bar as a husband, father and worthy Melchizedek priesthood holder. I love him, admire him and miss him. My two boys are angels, physical proof that the Lord loves me enough to trust me with two of his finest spirits. Everything I have is a direct blessing from my Father in Heaven and for that I am forever endebted to him. I know these things are true and swear by them in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
