The sound of the Falls is amazing, booming and powerful. Another fun thing to see was Washington's 100+ yr old power plant. It was the first of it's kind to house it's then 4 waterwheel turbines and 4 generators completely underground. The underground cavity was carved out of solid bedrock 270 below the ground. It's still in use today supplying power.
Last weekend we took a day trip to Snoqualmie Falls. The hike down to the bottom of the Falls is about a mile. The boys did a great job walking down by themselves and staying on the path.
Coming back up the steep hike was a different story. Adam said it was much like the Ruck Sack Marches he did in basic training. Nick weighs 46 lbs and Jake weighs 32.
This picture was taken at the bottom of the trail . The falls are behind us but obscured by Adam's head and the trees :o) This picture made the final cut because 3 out of 4 of us were looking!

After the hike we had a picnic lunch under the huge Evergreen Trees that blanket the park's entrance. It was a really fun way to spend our "Valentine's Day" as a family this year.
